hugging, kissing, crying, “remember when” and of
course, all of the laughter----the party was a night
to remember!
Saturday morning found many of the classmates who
were staying at the hotel, at poolside. There was
also a tour set up for Saturday morning at Stranahan
High School, which is scheduled to be torn down and
reconstructed. The Assistant Principal gave us a
delightful tour that brought back floods of
memories.
Saturday evening
we met in the ballroom for the final party. After
the group photo, dinner was served and our
classmate, Marvin Goldstein played a delightful
medley during dinner. Forty years just disappeared
and we were back at the prom, when our DJ began
playing songs that we danced to way back when. The
party was scheduled to end at 11PM, but the Reunion
Committee negotiated another hour with the DJ and
the hotel.
Sunday morning
brought more hugs and kisses and promises to email
as they parted in the hotel lobby. It was truly
such a wonderful walk down memory lane. The finale
was a Sunday Brunch at the Downtowner Café in Fort
Lauderdale where a large group continued to enjoy
sharing the memories and laughter.
Our reunion
weekend was a huge success with sincere thanks going
to the Ocean Sky Resort and all of their wonderful
staff; and Frank, our DJ from Touch of Class
Entertainment.
Speaking as one
of the Reunion Committee, I will share with you that
we are a group of very dedicated and loyal Dragons,
but we could not have created such a successful
reunion without YOU----you all, each and every one
of you who made the effort to attend, are what
makes it special. My partners: Rich Dechert,
Leannah Robinson, Kathy and Roger Bower, Poco
French, and Frank Andrews. We would also like to
recognize and thank Graham Pugh for creating and
maintaining our website---it is terrific.
Best regards and
still Dragon after 40 years,
Dianne
